Bloodmage Thalnos

Bloodmage Thalnos is a level 32 elite skeleton mini-boss found in the Graveyard of the Scarlet Monastery, just below the staircase at the far end of the graveyard itself. Although he lacks any distinguishing mortal features, judging from his title it is assumed that Thalnos was once a blood elf mage prior to his undeath.

His spells and abilities are:

• Shadowbolt
• Flame Spike (Calls down a pillar of flame, burning all enemies in a selected area for 93 to 107 Fire damage and an additional 50 damage every 3 sec. for 9 sec.)

It seems very plausible that Thalnos could be the mage mentioned by H Bardu Sharpeye and A Alexia Ironknife that was commissioned by the Scarlet Crusade to craft magical weapons for use against the undead, and was subsequently murdered upon completion. Their organization certainly has no love for blood elves (or any races associated with the Horde), and it would put Thalnos' talk of revenge in context. As Bardu Sharpeye mentions, their mistrust of the arcane has grown. Timolain has also speculated to be the crafter of the Ashbringer, but if he is Lich, as phylactery suggests, Bloodmage Thalnos, would be more probable crafter of ashbringer.
